Proud to be Czech. In the 1930s, Czechoslovakia was the 8th most developed country in the world, built on reliable, precise industry.

My grandfather showed me that legacy. A hundred years later, Czechia is pushing forward in business again, powered by great people and honest work.

First mentor

My grandfather

My first business lessons came from him, on the summer holidays we spent together. He took me along to the collectors' fairs where he sold model collectibles, and taught me, trade by trade, how business works.

Pianos, then exile

The hard chapter

Fr. Jan Hummel's pianos were played by Austrian nobility, Czech townspeople and the Russian aristocracy.

After the Bolshevik coup the family fled Russia across the Baltic Sea. On that ship, a young daughter of the family died of pneumonia. We don't forget where we come from.
